Upon completion of Nbio 301 and 302, students may apply for entry into
the honors program in neurobiology. Admission will be based on performance
in Nbio 301 and 302, and on individual interviews. In addition to the
above requirements, to receive an honors degree students must:
A) Maintain a cumulative 3.4 major GPA.
B) Three quarters approved research, mimimum 3 credits per quarter or the equivalent number of hours of research, as documented by adviser, two quarters must be completed after NBio 302.
C) Completion of a Senior thesis based on research project.
Thesis must be completed in standard scientific journal format. Thesis must be approved by faculty mentor and one additional approved NBio faculty member. Thesis approvals must be received via email or departmental letterhead. Students must contact both faculty members regarding thesis approval no later than the beginning of their final quarter prior to graduation. Students must submit a first draft of their thesis to both faculty members no later than the fifth week of their final quarter unless prior written arrangements have been made with both for a later date of submission. In making arrangements to have the thesis approved, students must be aware of University deadlines for thesis approval and completion of honor's requirements.
D) Completion of 2 quarters NBio 450.
E) All requirements must be completed prior to graduation.
